Hulu orders Ryan Coogler's The X-Files reboot to series
Reported by Fangoria · Oct 13, 2026
Hulu ordered Ryan Coogler's reimagining of The X-Files to series, with Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel starring. Coogler wrote, directed and executive produced the pilot through Proximity Media; Jennifer Yale serves as showrunner, with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian also executive producing for Proximity.
Why it matters
The order places Proximity's creative network in a leadership position on an established television franchise. That expands its production opportunities, although a series order should not be confused with ownership of the underlying intellectual property.
