BLACKGENRE

Privacy Policy

How BlackGenre handles your information.

Newsletter signup and optional audience measurement have separate choices. You can read BlackGenre without signing up or allowing measurement.

Newsletter requests

We collect your email address only after you explicitly agree to receive the BlackGenre editorial newsletter. We store your consent date and version, signup page and identifiable referral channel. Newsletter delivery is not connected yet; requests remain pending and no campaigns are sent.

Subscriber details are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. The private preferences link shown after a new signup lets you withdraw your request. Keep that link private. After withdrawal, your email and signup details are removed; a one-way email fingerprint remains only to prevent unwanted email and accidental re-enrollment.

Optional audience measurement

Measurement is off by default. If you allow it, we store a random visitor identifier, visits, return visits, article engagement, newsletter signup events and outbound network clicks. Events include the page, time and identifiable referral channel, not your newsletter email, full referring address or search terms. Attribution we cannot identify is labeled unknown.

Audience event records are retained for 90 days and expired records are removed nightly. Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to change your decision. Declining stops measurement and requests removal of records associated with your current browser identifier. Browser consent choices remain locally until changed or browser storage is cleared.

Access and safeguards

Subscriber records and audience reports are restricted to approved staff. Essential sign-in storage is separate from optional measurement. Short-lived abuse-prevention counters protect signup and preferences requests. Newsletter campaign delivery will require a separately approved service and verified sender.

This describes the current audience features. Additional legal disclosures and a verified privacy contact must be completed before public launch.
